Many hands (feet) make short work.
If you have spent time on a field, diamond or court watching youth sports it’s easy to see how much emphasis gets put on individual player performance. It seemingly comes from all directions – parents, coaches, teammates and the players themselves. That desire to win seems to run deep inside us all.
But, on a warm dusty afternoon when you see the entire team take the field without taking their positions – you take notice. Then you realize what they are doing and without asking or being told they start helping their pitcher get ready. For a moment you remember it’s always been a team sport and stop looking at the score board and Game Changer. It becomes the unexpected reminder of what a team and true teamwork looks like.
Building a good team needs to start a little deeper than just performance. It starts with getting them all to work together. It builds trust, confidence and makes the wins sweeter and defeats a little less sour. Way to be a team, go rebels!
